The 2024 PATRIOT'S RUN SANTA ROSA BEACH Half Marathon + 10K/5K, powered by RUN/SUP, will be taking place at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park on Saturday, September 7, 2024. Runners will have FOUR distinct courses to choose from: the Half Marathon, the 10K, and the 5K. The Half Marathon starts at 6:45a, the 10K + 5K will kick off at 7:00a.
There will be an awards ceremony beginning at 8:00a for the 5K runners and another at ~9:00a for the 10K + Half runners, where the men’s and women’s winners + runner ups for all four courses will receive their awards. Age-group awards will also be given. All registered runners who cross the finish line of their respective race will also receive a very cool finisher's medal. All registered runners will also receive a very cool short-sleeve race shirt.
Event Details and Schedule:
Course Info. All four courses are run entirely inside Topsail Hill Preserve State Park. The park doesn't open to the public until 8a on race morning, so we'll largely have the park to ourselves for a while.
Again, we’ll be offering four very different courses for you to choose from:
1. 5K: The 5K course consists of a fantastic out-and-back route run completely on a paved surface. This course should be fast for those seeking a 5K PR, but most definitely stroller-friendly for those wanting to enjoy the views.
2. 10K Pavement: The 10K course is TWO laps of the 5K course. So also stroller AND PR-friendly!
3. 10K Trail: The 10K course has it all: pavement, beach (and obviously beach views!), majestic pines, and dune lakes. You can expect ~2 miles on paved roads, ~1.25 miles on sand, and ~3 miles on trails. Just a fantastic course...but also a difficult course :)
4. Half Marathon: "Probably the hardest half I've ever done..." said one runner who completed the 2023 inaugural event.
If the 10K Trail "has it all," then the Half Marathon has it all...x2! Yes, the Half Marathon course is basically two laps of the 10K course with a little extra sand + an ankle'ish-deep water crossing. NOT for the faint of heart.
NOTE: Half Marathon runners MUST be finished by 9:45a. For any runners anticipating taking more than 3 hours to finish, an early start is authorized. The only catch is that runners that start early will not be eligible for overall or age-group awards.

Early packet pick-up will take place on Friday, September 6th at Fleet Feet Inlet Beach from 4-6p. Race day packet pick-up will begin at 6:00a on race morning.
